Jane Morgan of New Lexington was recently honored as one of the 20 Outstanding Women You Should Know, presented by Sunny 95 radio. Women are chosen for this award because of their contributions and dedication to the well being of the community. Jane was chosen from among 350 nominations that were received. A ceremony was held at the Lincoln Center in Columbus on January 9th.
Jane is in her 25th year as a multiple disability teacher's aide for the New Lexington City Schools. She teaches
during the school year, but when summer break rolls around, she can be found "feeding" rather than "teaching" as a head cook in a kitchen of a non-profit camp. The camp runs completely free and has done so for more than 50 years. Serving approximately 120-150 people a week, four times a day for four weeks, Jane is the first face they see when they wake up and usually the last one they see before they go to bed. In her spare time she teaches two children's classes at church. Kids are her business and Jane loves working with them.
